I don't think the ties Erika has had with the military and higher personnel has been investigated enough. How did her philanthropic organization team up with an Infantry unit stationed in Romania to sponsor Orphanage Antonio on Constata. Was it United Hands Romania that was able to team up with her or her connections with the military? Why was she at Quantico and pictured with the 17th Sergeant Major of the Marines in 2012?

  • Can’t Find Book Assault on Truth- help!

    The Assault on Truth
    Abbey

I am new to the book Club and started at the beginning with Chaos and Hollywood Babylon. I cannot find Assault on Truth for a reasonable price from a reputable retailer. Some copies are going for $1000 or have a 6mo lead time! Would anyone be willing to mail me their copy? I would, of course, pay for the book and shipping. The harder is it to find, the more I know we need to be reading it!! So appreciate anyone willing to help out another truth seeker!

I was just wondering why we did not finish the book. After reading to the end I felt like there was still a lot to discuss. Did anyone else feel that way?

Why did the book club not cover the entire book? I feel like there was a lot of important chapters that we did not go over. Did anyone else feel this way?

  • Freud's plagiarism of Nietzsche

    British Journal of Psychiatry (1995), 166, 251-253

During the last quarter of the 19th century and the first two decades of this one, Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900),the German philologist, critic, and philosopher, was the most discussed writer in Europe. His impact on many intellectual circles was great. In regard to psychiatry and psychology, Henri F. Ellenberger (1958), the existential psychotherapist, has written (p. 20): “At almost any point at which one opens Nietzsche, one finds psychological insights which are not only penetrating and astute in themselves but amazingly parallel to the psychological mechanisms which Freud was to formulate a decade or more later.” This becomes clear as a few extracts from Nietzsche are reviewed.

  • Bible Versions

    The Assault on Truth
    Alcina San Antonio- TX

In the most recent book club, Candace spoke about Bibles. Hers is from 1880. I have a Catholic Action Bible that was my grandmothers printed copyright 1953 by Catholic books Inc., Old Testament books Genesis through Ruth copyrighted in 1952 by confraternity of Christian doctrine, Washington DC. End of the book of psalms; copyrighted 1950 by the same owner as the holy Bible book of psalms and the Canticles of the Roman Breviary as well as the parts of the New Testament, similarly copyrighted in 1941 as the New Testament of our Lord and savor Jesus Christ – a revision of the challenge-Rhiems Version. It seems like older is what we’re looking for in the Bible. Is there any reference as far as when changes started to happen to the Bible and if that 1953 version is safe?

Hey friends! I just joined Candace's book club today and I wanted to read The Assault on Truth.... but it is unavailable everywhere? It is taken off the publisher's website, the ebook link says there is an error, amazon is out of stock. The author's website is not connecting me with an available book either. Just curious if anyone had a tip for me or if anyone encountered the same problem. If anyone has an extra copy I would be interested in reimbursing you. I'm dying to read it! Thanks in advance!

At our book club on 8/5, we discussed a "make-up" book club meeting this week. I thought it was supposed to be today or tomorrow; however, I cannot find anything on it. Is this no longer happening? Or is 8/19 the make up and we're doing another the last week of August or something?(If I am being silly, and this is listed somewhere, can someone please point it out ? 🙂 ) Thank you!!!

    Hello!
I hope everyone is doing well. I wanted to post to see where I should read up to in The Assault on Truth. This is my first time reading along with Candace. Her first video for the book, is it normally just an intro? Or should I read the first 100 pages or something to prepare for the first video?
    Thank you! 🙂

  • Curious Mentions - Bocklin & Goethe

    The Assault on Truth
    k_dubs

I was curious to see if anyone else picked up on Freud giving “clues” to Fliess in their letters about Arnold Bocklin and a Johann Goethe. In both cases it’s as if he’s mentioning them to let Fliess know “you can trust him, he’s like us.” I went down a couple rabbit holes and both men seem to have an affinity for the Occult expressed in their works.

It was very hard to find any info online but to me it seems like a lot of Bocklin’s paintings depicted sacrifice, pagan gods, and rituals. Similarly, the passage about Goethe that was mentioned was in reference to the novel Wilhelm Meisters Apprenticeship. A book about an androgynous man being attracted to a young girl and his encounters with the secret “Tower Society.”

Anyone else pick up on this? I would love to learn more about Goethe and Bocklin but couldn’t find much about their history.
