Bible Versions

In the most recent book club, Candace spoke about Bibles. Hers is from 1880. I have a Catholic Action Bible that was my grandmothers printed copyright 1953 by Catholic books Inc., Old Testament books Genesis through Ruth copyrighted in 1952 by confraternity of Christian doctrine, Washington DC. End of the book of psalms; copyrighted 1950 by the same owner as the holy Bible book of psalms and the Canticles of the Roman Breviary as well as the parts of the New Testament, similarly copyrighted in 1941 as the New Testament of our Lord and savor Jesus Christ – a revision of the challenge-Rhiems Version. It seems like older is what we’re looking for in the Bible. Is there any reference as far as when changes started to happen to the Bible and if that 1953 version is safe?

I'm so glad someone has asked about this. I was wondering the same. I hadn't read or gotten into the Bible honestly at all until Charlies death. Bought my first one (1890s) on 9/30 and interestingly there was a newspaper clipping inside stating about how bibles were going to be reproduced and mass produced. I'm going find it again and put it here. It seemed like a good article, but I did wonder how much was changed in those. The Scofield Bible was produced in 1909 and I dont know how much that effected (if at all) all the rest..

The problem with bibles esp in the US is that many pastors use the Scholfield edition which the Zionists would have you follow, not sure the differences between a Catholic bible to a Protestant one( yes I am a Protestant) who was brought up reading the King James V bible from going to Sundays school from the age of 3 until the age of 12, and then going to church until my mid teens, but let that side drift as I aged but have always been a Christian and tried to follow gods scripture, but as I was nearing my 50’s I decided to start reading the bible more, and have also read the Quran, but before the present genocide in Gaza I was also going to read the Torah, but have decided I want nothing to do with those who worship in the Sinagogue of Satan and yes I meant to spell it like that
