I woke up seeing news that she just died of old age in Cuba a few days ago. For those who don't know, and grossly summarized in my own words, she was a black revolutionary, convicted cop killer who miraculously escaped prison and fled to Cuba after receiving a life sentence for murder. On the surface, you may think she's a bad seed after seeing her criminal rap sheet. Then after deep diving, red flags start to pop up after seeing many charges dropped case after case, and the fact that her involvement in the Black Panther Party and Black Liberation Army (both groups targeted by COINTELPRO) put her dead smack center on the feds list of domestic "terrorist" targets. Many people in these groups that went against the status quo were harrassed, framed, etc in an all out shakedown. We know the government doesn't like resistance efforts nor revolutionaries which came at the cost of many of their lives. They were either jailed or murdered to restrict their control over we the people. Whether you agree with her beliefs on radicalism, resistance and solutions for combating the race paradigm in America, her story is worth knowing and truth is always worth seeking. I don't know enough about her, but I'm curious to read her autobiography and hear her perspective. I feel like this should be a movie. Did I mention she's the late rapper Tupac Shakur's step-aunt and godmother? Crazy!!!
