Candace are you willing to share anything about home schooling your kids?? I find myself more and more disgusted by the public school system where I am from. And I am intrigued to know more about home schooling! I do not have the slightest idea about what to do to get more information about this. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated!

I want to share my autodidact's advice regarding education, which is: Make sure kids learn enough geometry to understand how to use deductive reasoning from first principles.
The following is from the diary of US President John Adams in his younger days. Notice the reference to Self evident Principles. Adams collaborated with Jefferson in authoring the Declaration of Independence. There is no record of who added the term "self-evident". Based on this, I believe it was probably Adams.
JUNE 1756. 1 TUESDAY.
Drank Tea at the Majors. The Reasoning of Mathematicians is founded on certain and infallible Principles. Every Word they Use, conveys a determinate Idea, and by accurate Definitions they excite the same Ideas in the mind of the Reader that were in the mind of the Writer. When they have defined the Terms they intend to make use of, they premise a few Axioms, or Self evident Principles, that every man must assent to as soon as proposed. They then take for granted certain Postulates, that no one can deny them, such as, that a right Line may be drawn from one given Point to another, and from these plain simple Principles, they have raised most astonishing Speculations, and proved the Extent of the human mind to be more spacious and capable than any other Science.
